Kamchatka July 13-22.2022

For thous participants who joins this trip after the tour BEARS OF KAMCHATKA we provide the special price for this trip $2200 USD

Who is the tour for?
First of all, it's for people who are in love with life – new emotions and new discoveries... It's for those who would like to see the beauty of our big country with one's own eyes. Also, for those who value the company of like-minded friends living brightly and boldly. And of course, if you like holding a camera in your hands you'll have lots of reasons to do it during our programme. And our guide will take pleasure to teach you how to have photos making your friends and colleagues really jealous.
But even if you aren't a devoted photo camera user you won't feel bored with us. Don't even mention being bored... You'll be toooootally carried away: to see the "Martian" landscapes of Kamchatka, to take a walk along the hot stones which are breathing with the Earth heat, to visit a crater of an active volcano... Haven't you been dreaming of such an adventure?
Read our description to go into detail or ask your own questions! We're waiting for them...
And, of course, for you!!!
Volcanoes Of Kamchatka
Kamchatka is an attractive and unrealizable dream of many travellers, a distant and magical part of a vast country, a land heated by the breath of dozing volcanoes and hot springs gushing from under your feet. We invite you to visit this amazing region at the very end of summer and in early autumn when nature generously spreads a carpet of gold and purple colours and the rapid rivers are filled with herds of salmon going to spawn.
We will visit the foot of Tolbachik, climb up to the top of active volcanic cones, we will see the highest active volcano on the Eurasian continent, Klyuchevskaya Sopka, and Mutnovsky Volcano, find and explore ice caves at its foot, visit the Dead Forest and welcome the sun in the crater of Gorely Volcano.

The format of the trip is expeditionary. This means that we're going to drive all-wheel terrain vehicles based on 6wd KAMAZ. Passenger compartments of these cars are equipped with comfortable seats and you will be able to recharge your electronic devices, cameras and drones from the onboard network on our way.
We will organize a very comfortable overnight stay in the expedition tent camp with a shower and a toilet. There will be a large dining tent equipped with tables and chairs where our expedition cook will prepare delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The camp will have a generator running every day.
The places of our destination are 500 or more kilometers away from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. There are no hotels or guesthouses there, not at all. This format will allow us to save time on moving and get acquainted with the wild nature of Kamchatka and feel closer its severe beauty .
At the beginning, at the middle and the end of the route there will be stops at a hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky where you will take a break between active and busy days of our expedition.

We will walk without our big bags along all radial tracks from the base camp to the most beautiful locations, and our mountain guides will carry thermoses and light snacks. If you want to take a bottle of water or a camera make sure to bring a small backpack or a comfortable handbag from home.

It's no sense trying to express the delight that you'll experience when meeting Kamchatka. However, we will draw the veil and show you a short video filmed by our guide in Kamchatka in August, 2019. You will manage to see all the places from the movie during the trip, except for Lake Kurilsky and its bears.
By the way, at our camp sites you will be able to watch young single bears or even whole families with cubs, from a distance of 300-400 meters. At 0:13-0:16 in our video a mother bear with two babies is slowly walking, 300 meters away from our camp site. Although bears are curious by nature, they don't dare to approach camp sites closer than 200-300 meters. In this case, it might be nice to bring binoculars or a drone.

July 13, 2022. Arrival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The airport code is PKC. Meeting at the airport, check-in at the hotel. Rest after the flight. During the welcome dinner we will discuss our future route in details. (//)
July 14, 2022 The expedition begins with a looooong journey (more than 500 kilometers) to small village where we will spend next night. (//D)
July 15, 2022 We will pick our participants up after helicopter transfer (after the tour Bears Of Kamchatka) and will go for setting up our camp on the black lava fields near Tolbachik Volcano. A radial hike to the lava fields. An evening excursion to the lava fields. (B/L/D)
July 16, 2022 We will welcome this morning sun on a field of black lava sand and green moss. The field is covered with volcanic formations and lava "bombs" (pieces of solidified lava of spherical shape that have flown out of the mouth of Tolbachik Volcano during its eruption). After breakfast we'll set out for the Dead Forest – one of the most dramatic places in Kamchatka. The Dead Forest is thousands of dead larch trees covered with hot volcanic ash for several meters which happened in 1976 during the eruption of Tolbachik. We will see the sunset from the cone of the active volcano. The walk up to the top of the cone will be about 600 meters long with a vertical climb of about 100 meters. (B/L/D)
July 17, 2022 Getting up in the dark as we're going to take an hour and a half ascent to the Red Cone. We will walk about two kilometers with an elevation gain of 350 meters. The Red Cone was named so for the rich color of volcanic sand on its slopes. Breakfast in the camp, rest. Evening shooting at one of our favorite locations. (B/L/D)

July 18, 2022 Packing up camp. We will spend the whole day travelling towards Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Check-in at the hotel. Rest. (B/L/)
July 19, 2022 Our next goal is a group of volcanoes Mutnovsky and Gorely. And Mutnovsky is one of the active volcanoes. Setting up camp, lunch. An evening outing in search of ice caves. Yes, you've heard it right – we'll search for ice caves ourselves. Every year the hot volcano breath melts last year's snowclusters and the glacier in the volcano crater. The melting ice rushes down the slopes into the valley, grinding bizarre tunnels and caves in the remaining clusters of snow. The location and the size of these caves change each year depending on the amount of snow in the winter and the summer temperatures. But we know where to find them! (B/L/D)
July 20, 2022 Immediately after breakfast we're going to walk along a radial route to the crater of Mutnovsky Volcano. It will take us about 2-2,5 hours walking slowly. The crater is full of pits of sulfurous discharge and steaming mud baths. If you want to see a real Martian landscape you should come here, to the crater of Mutnovsky Volcano. Tired but happy, we'll return to the camp after lunch. Rest, dinner, lights out. (B/L/D)

July 21, 2022 Morning ascent to the crater of Gorely Volcano. Gorely Volcano has long been cold and is not active. But its alien look, with a blue glacial lake in the bowl of its crater is truly unique. Return to the camp. Breakfast, packing up camp and departure towards Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. (B/L/D)
July 22, 2022 Our expedition is finishing. There will be a group transfer to the airport by 11-12 a. m. See you again, Kamchatka!!! (B//)
